Luxe Pack Monaco Chartered a Paris-Nice TGV for its Delegates
The premium packaging mega-show which took place from October 2 to 4 at the Grimaldi Forum, stood out this year with an unprecedented eco-friendly initiative. The organisers of the Luxe Pack Monaco gave delegates the chance to travel to the Principality by privatised train direct from Paris. This initiative which benefited from the support of the Mission for Energy Transition and the Tourism Department, was a test run for Fabienne Germond, Director of Luxe Pack Salons. “The main objective was to offer transport with a much smaller carbon footprint (26 times less according to Ademe 2023 figures) than air transport. But we also wanted to offer low-cost transport (60 euros) to our delegates and create a new networking experience: the show begins as soon as the train pulls out of Gare de Lyon! Admittedly, the journey is longer than by plane since there is no TGV line to Nice, but professionals can work peacefully on board or start networking with their peers, depending on their preferences,” commented the CEO, listing the extras on board: massage, breakfast, tastings of local products. “We had to agree on a departure date and place. This year, we are offering this train from Paris on a one-way ticket, but if it’s a success we would obviously like to offer the return ticket,” says Fabienne Germond.
Luxe Pack 2023 attracted nearly 10,000 visitors. Among the winners was MMB Volum-e (Trophée Formes de luxe, in the Spirits box category), which produced secondary packaging in Titanium 3D printing to dress a bottle of XO cognac. This is a unique piece commissioned for a limited edition by the Hennessy cognac house and created in collaboration with a famous British designer, Kim Jones. Another prize winner was Albéa who manufactures gifts, packaging and accessories for its for its RecyMakeUp programme, intended to make mascara and lip balm packaging, cream jars and powder cases more recyclable.
