3rd MEB Trade Mission to Moscow: ties strengthened
For the Monaco Heritage Days initiative in Moscow, arranged by the Principality’s Ambassador to Russia, H.E. Mrs Mireille Pettiti, the Monaco Economic Board (MEB) organised a Trade Mission to the capital on 4-6 October. The purpose was to pursue bilateral exchanges that have been developing over several years[1].
For MEB Chairman Michel Dotta, “this country, which is one of the few with whom the MEB has organised so many events, is in it for the long-term… It is clear that significant progress has been made.”
Networking sessions sand opportunities to gather information were central to the itinerary arranged for the 20+ Monegasque companies present.
Business leaders updated their knowledge of the Russian market and its potential, at a conference on the investment environment in Russia led by Monaco Consul Igor Yurgens.
B2B meetings between individuals were held for the first time with the MEB’s Russian counterparts[2], on 5 October in the Ritz-Carlton, with 140 appointments made between entrepreneurs from both countries.
However, it was Russian-Monegasque relations that were the focus of the trip, as strong links are gradually being forged led by Monaco’s Ambassador to Russia. Delegates were therefore able to attend one of two exceptional performances by the Ballets de Monte-Carlo company at the Bolshoi Theatre, a major cultural event that was the catalyst for these two Monaco Heritage Days.
The Princess Grace Hospital, and Tourism and Convention Authority also made the trip to organise, respectively, two evenings dedicated to the Monaco Princess Grace Check-up Unit and tourism in the Principality.
For the MEB, the next step is to host a Russian delegation to the Principality in the third quarter of 2018, in collaboration with Ambassador Pettiti.
