Economic Mission to Naples
23/10/2019
The MEB’s Monaco Chamber of Commerce department organised a combined promotional-business development mission to Naples from 21-23 October. Accompanied by three Monegasque companies – Banque Richelieu, Ingénierie & Énergie and Mazza Immobilier – the Monaco Economic Board was there to reinforce links with 80+ invited public and private contacts.
Organised under the aegis of Monaco’s Embassy in Italy, supported by the Monaco Consulate in Naples, the mission focused on three events:
- Monday 21 October, a promotional business meeting organised by think tank Trinità dei Monti in partnership with the Naples Chamber of Commerce and Order of Lawyers, was attended by 80 handpicked delegates from the region. It was also an opportunity to combine diplomatic and consular forces with the Destination Monaco Neapolitan Ambassadors Club – comprising 30 businesses and institutions with strong links to the Principality – and Trinità dei Monti members. Local media were out in force which ensured good coverage of the event throughout Campagna.
- Tuesday 22 October morning, a reception was held at the Naples Chamber of Commerce, with the signing of a letter of intent attended by journalists. The Monegasque delegation, led by H.E. Mr Robert Fillon, Monaco’s Ambassador in Italy, Mariano Bruno, Monaco’s Consul in Naples, and MEB Executive Director General, Guillaume Rose, received an enthusiastic welcome. The agreement paves the way to a new era of bilateral economic cooperation.
- Finally, the delegation spent a privileged evening with members of the Destination Monaco Neapolitan Ambassadors Club in the prestigious, historic Circolo Nazionale dell’Unione. It was an ideal opportunity to meet influential figures and promote business opportunities in the Principality.
As Monaco’s leading economic partner*, Italy is a key destination for MEB which returns for another mission, this time to Turin from 8-10 November 2019.
*Excluding France, as not quantifiable due to the French-Monaco customs union.
