MEB strengthens ties with neighbouring region at Monaco Business fair

Monaco Economic Board (MEB) took the opportunity to sign a partnership with Nice Côte d’Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) at the Monaco Business fair, an agreement that immediately translated into concrete actions during the day.

At the opening of the Monaco Business fair in the Auditorium Rainier III on Tuesday 27 October by Minister of State H.E. Mr Pierre Dartout, the two Chambers of Commerce chairmen, Michel Dotta for MEB and Jean-Pierre Savarino for Nice Côte d’Azur CCI, signed a new revamped cooperation agreement.

The two Chambers shared a stand, signalling their intentions and enabling companies from Monaco and across the border in France to meet and develop ties at a local level, an obvious option given the uncertainty surrounding global trade.

Dialogue extended to a conference hosted by MEB Executive Director General, Guillaume Rose, and Jacques Lesieur, General Director of Nice Côte d’Azur CCI, on the theme Why and how to promote companies internationally. It was an opportunity to highlight their respective strengths and how the two territories complement each other to offer potential for growth that only requires to be better exploited. Joint activities discussed included hosting delegations and organising trade fairs and trade missions together. It is a concept that could appeal to faraway destinations where Monaco and the Côte d’Azur are considered a single region that appeals because of the diversity of sectors they represent.

Later, at the nearby Yacht Club de Monaco, a networking session attended by over 50 members of the two Chambers was organised to cement the partnership and get the ball rolling. After a brief presentation on five companies that are already benefiting from this joint potential, informal discussions revealed that a bedrock of business opportunities to be mined does exist.

For Michel Dotta: “This rapprochement with Nice Côte d’Azur CCI makes it possible to build new bridges with businesses in the neighbouring department, to facilitate exchanges and promote opportunities for collaborations that are not always evident. Together, we will be stronger”.
