MEB hosts delegation of Polish entrepreneurs
Monday 6 May a delegation of Polish entrepreneurs working in the new technology sector were welcomed to the Monaco Economic Board (MEB) premises by its Executive Director General Guillaume Rose. Also present was H.E. Mrs Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Monaco Ambassador in Poland. The agenda included meeting MEB member companies and a networking cocktail organised by MonacoTech.
Poland and Monaco not only have the colours of their flag in common. Since the first MEB Trade Mission to Warsaw in 2010, economic ties have remained solid. The relationship was given a boost on 16 October last year when a Monaco Day in Warsaw was organised by Monaco’s Ambassador in Poland with Monaco’s Honorary Consul and the Polish Coalition for Innovation which groups 140 companies and organisations linked to this sector. The MEB also made the trip to participate.
On Monday, the Polish Coalition delegation, led by Monaco’s Consul in Poland Tomasz Wardyński, was welcomed at the MEB premises as part of a visit that was a natural continuation of the Monegasque trip to Warsaw. After a presentation on the Principality’s key advantages, the visitors had plenty of opportunity to asks questions and further the discussion on potential openings.
They were then taken to see the incubator-accelerator MonacoTech. After a brief introduction by its Director Fabrice Marquet, several startups made pitches to an audience that was clearly interested in what they had to say. The day ended with a networking cocktail attended by 40-plus MEB members who welcomed the opportunity to make some worthwhile contacts.
On Tuesday 7 May, Justin Highman, Director of Monaco Invest, took the Polish entrepreneurs on a tour of the Principality to meet those in Monaco’s administration who are working on the smart city concept and Fintech, the Welcome Office and representatives from Monaco for Finance (AMAF). The trip ended with a visit to CSM (Centre Scientifique de Monaco).
