Monaco Economic Board back to business in London with new ambitions
Justin Highman, Monaco Economic Board Deputy Director General was in London 8-9 February re-establishing links in-person in the UK capital as part of MEB’s Invest Monaco remit to promote the Principality to potential investors and future residents. Its success bodes well for others in what should be an oh so British year!
An international financial capital, London is a magnet for those wanting to meet wealth managers and investors. Justin Highman seized the opportunity of an invitation to an event in the House of Lords, organised by Vahe Vartanian, Founder and Managing Director of the Global Family Office Community which has organised several such operations in the past, to reconnect with prospects and promoters of Destination Monaco.
During the evening, former captain of the English rugby team (World Champions in 2003), Lawrence Dallaglio OBE (Order of the British Empire), demonstrated that in addition to his attacking talent on the field, he is a staunch defender of good causes. In this case it was the Centre for Social Justice foundation and set the right tone for an evening conducive to establishing new contacts that only face-to-face meetings can provide.
During the trip, meetings were held with H.E. Mrs Evelyne Genta, Monaco’s Ambassador to the UK, and the Principality of Monaco Promotion Office in London to plan future joint operations during the year. Justin Highman also visited the head office of international art gallery Hauser & Wirth with the managers of a new exhibition space just opened in Monaco, at Monte-Carlo One, Laetitia Catoir and Federica Beretta. A new MEB member, the gallery could partner promotional events in Monaco and at its various sites throughout the world.
Lastly, at a time when health restrictions are being lifted in UK, a Trade Mission to the capital with delegates from the Principality could be on the cards for 2022. In short, MEB is back in business in London!
