MEB participates in first "Monaco House" on sidelines of World Economic Forum in Davos
On Thursday 23 January, the Monaco Economic Board was in Davos alongside major entities promoting Monaco's attractiveness on the margins of the World Economic Forum in a dedicated venue: Monaco House. For the MEB, it was an opportunity to showcase one of its member companies, Dietsmann, a key player in the energy sector that has been present in the Principality since 1981, exemplifying the success of resident entrepreneurs in Monaco.
The World Economic Forum annually brings together the global elite of political and economic decision-makers in Davos, Switzerland. The Prince’s Government decided to actively participate for the first time this year through a day of roundtables organised by the Attractiveness Unit in collaboration with the Prince Albert II Foundation in a dedicated venue, Monaco House. Numerous stakeholders from the ecosystem linked to the Principality's attractiveness, as well as prestigious guests, took part in the discussions. One session was dedicated to the Monaco Economic Board on the theme "Mobilising Innovation from Monaco: Leaders' Insights on Transforming the Energy Sector for a Sustainable Future".
In preparation for the event, the concept of highlighting a leading company, long established in Monaco and having successfully developed there, quickly emerged. The choice fell on Dietsmann, a globally recognised specialist in energy sector operations and maintenance. Arriving in Monaco in 1981, its President and Founder Peter Kütemann has created a genuine success story.
"When I arrived in the Principality, we had four employees; today we have more than 120 in Monaco and 4,500 worldwide, present in more than twenty countries. Thanks to its neutrality, political and fiscal stability, and security, Monaco has been an ideal location for Dietsmann's development, as well as a unique place to live with family", explained the leader to carefully selected guests.
When asked by Justin Highman, Deputy CEO of MEB who moderated the discussion, Cesare Canevese, CEO of Dietsmann who was also present, added "Thanks to its geostrategic location and proximity to Nice airport, as well as excellent connectivity in the Principality, our international expansion has proceeded under very favourable conditions. Moreover, innovation through the integration of technologies that reduce our carbon footprint finds a natural resonance in H.S.H. Prince Albert II's commitment to more sustainable development, which our clients also appreciate."
These arguments perfectly complemented the day's debates, concluded by the Sovereign, and thus helped showcase the Principality's economic advantages to world leaders through practical example.
