The Monaco Economic Board at the heart of the Monaco Business show

26/09/2024

On Thursday 19 September, the Monaco Economic Board played an active role in the 12th Monaco Business Show, held at the Sea Club du Méridien Beach Plaza. The event provided an opportunity to organise a Club Eco Monaco conference with the Nice-Matin Group, to sign a cooperation agreement with the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and to network with the entrepreneurs present on a double stand shared with its new regional partner.

The Monaco Economic Board is a loyal partner of Monaco Business, which offers entrepreneurs from Monaco and the Côte d'Azur the opportunity to meet and attend a series of conferences linked to the Principality's ecosystem.

Following the opening of the show by the Minister of State, Michel Dotta, Chairman of the Monaco Economic Board, and Philippe Renaudi, Chairman of the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, signed a cooperation agreement. This agreement follows on from others signed in previous years with the Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur, the CCI Nice-Côte d'Azur, the Italian Chamber of Commerce Nice Sophia Antipolis, Côte d'Azur and the Sophia Antipolis Foundation. "We're continuing to develop our local presence to offer our companies new opportunities for collaboration," says Guillaume Rose, Executive Director of the MEB.

As an illustration of this formalised agreement, the two bodies were present on a shared stand and MEB member companies were able to contact the CCI PACA for regional needs. MEB members may also be invited to take part in an event organised by the CCI PACA in the coming months.

Another highlight that has marked the MEB's presence at Monaco Business for several years now is the Club Eco Monaco conference organised in conjunction with the Nice-Matin Group. The theme chosen for this year's event was "Health and well-being in Monaco: an exemplary system". Moderated by Denis Carreaux, Editorial Director of the Nice-Matin group, five experts gave an insight into the different facets of Monaco's offering in this field.

- Pierre Lavagna, President and Founder of the Otoneuro Monaco clinic, which specialises in hearing and balance disorders. "Thanks to our high-level experts and cutting-edge equipment, our clinic has for some months now been offering a benchmark service in this field, unique in Europe, complemented by research work that contributes to its reputation and excellence."

- Gilles Chironi, he has been head of the Checkup Unit at the Princess Grace Hospital Centre since it was set up in 2016. This unit provides comprehensive health check-ups, in a single location, by recognised specialists with a view to prevention. "Monegasques and residents used to have to go abroad for this type of service". This is now a major argument for attracting wealthy tourists who want to combine health and leisure, but also for attracting potential future residents.

- Catherine Decuyper co-founded the Aesthetic & Anti-Aging Medicine World Congress, an event that has been held in the Principality since 2007 and attracts some 15,000 participants every year. "Monaco was an obvious choice because of its international profile and its affluent population with a keen interest in this field. But we also realised that it was in line with the Principality's desire to promote cutting-edge medicine".

- Louis Stark, Director of the Hôtel Hermitage and the Thermes Marins de Monte-Carlo SBM: "The first sea baths appeared in Monaco in 1860, and today our facilities represent 6,600m2 of equipment dedicated to well-being, sport and relaxation, with around one hundred employees in some twenty professions (...). One of our strengths is that we can respond to requests from professional sportspeople for both preparation and recovery, in collaboration with other establishments in the Principality."

- Michael Cohen, Founder of Brain NET. Incubated by MonacoTech, the start-up offers applications that can reveal abnormalities even in the pre-clinical stages of several neurological diseases that are not detected with a traditional examination. "Brain Net is the crossroads of my work as a neurologist and my passion for technology"

Over the course of the discussions, it became clear that there are many bridges between the various Monegasque establishments in this sector, all of which are renowned for their performance and rigour. These are key factors in the Principality's appeal.

All in all, this edition of Monaco Business was another opportunity for the MEB to foster opportunities for exchanges with the outside world, to put business leaders in touch with each other and to promote Monaco's economic dynamism. In short, the MEB's missions came together.
